There are many ways to help
Individual or Corporate donations can offer tremendous help to those children with the greatest need and your donations can be offered with the knowledge that Charitable donations are tax deductible. This reduces your taxable income, and lowers your tax bill.
Claiming the Charitable Donation Deduction
Your gift of cash or property must meet certain criteria in order to be tax-deductible.
You must actually donate cash or property.
A pledge or promise to donate is not deductible until you actually pay.
You must donate to a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity.
Charities will let you know if they have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Some organizations are not required to obtain 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. These include churches and other religious organizations. For Child Sake through Llyons Court Charities is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. This means that donations made to us can be offset against the tax bill of that individual or that corporation.
You must be able to itemize.
Giving to charity is a great tax planning strategy, but it only works for people who are eligible to itemize their deductions.
You must meet record keeping requirements.
This includes saving canceled checks, any acknowledgement letters from the charity, and appraisals for donated property.
As long as you follow these basic guidelines, you can donate through the For Child Sake Website secure in the knowledge that your donation will assist those children who are in desperate need, yet at the same time you will receive benefits by the ability to offset your donation against your tax liabilities.
Fund a project:
Your company may prefer to make a donation to a particular project such as constructing a well or building a school or health clinic. We can discuss our ongoing projects with you but if you have an idea for a project that you would wish to assist in funding we are more than willing to meet with you to discuss your ideas.
Give As You Earn:
Set up an employee contribution scheme.
Companies can also donate a fixed amount or percentage for every product or service sold.
Gifts in kind:
We also receive gifts from companies which can often be used as competition or auction prizes, for example Holidays, Cars, TVs, Jewellery, Cameras or Gift Vouchers.
Sponsor a fundraising event
Raffle a car or a holiday, have a corporate dinner and donate the income; do absieling or make a parachute jump. Your staff may have many ideas of how to raise fund to support and we are more than willing to discuss them with you.
Sponsor a fundrainsing program
Fundraising equipment, such as coin vortex machines are an attractive way for charities to raise funds by siting a machine in a busy shopping mall. You may consider purchasing or leasing one for us and using your corporate reputation to have it sited in the busiest shopping mall in town whilst at the same time having your name on it as a sponsor and allowing us to raise further revenues by selling further advertising on the machine. Take a donation box for old mobile phones, pdas or laptop computers. Place it in your office and when full we will arrange collection and the funds raised upon sale will come to us.
